A new Manhattan bar has opened with the sole purpose of sticking it to President Donald Trump, the New York Times reports. A new bar called “Coup” is slated to open on April 14 near Astor Place. That’s not a reference to the classic coupe glass you drink Champagne out of, either. It’s a reference to the political revolut, as in “coup d’etat.”

It’s the latest venture of Ravi DeRossi, 42, the owner or co-owner of a number of super successful cocktail bars in New York City, including Amor y Amargo, Cienfuegos, Death & Co., Mayahuel and Mother of Pearl. “Mr. DeRossi intends to use the bar to convert his political paralysis into liquid action,” reports the Times.

“One-hundred percent of the profits are going to organizations that are either being defunded by the current administration or need money to fight the current administration, like Planned Parenthood and the A.C.L.U.,” DeRossi told the Times.

DeRossi has also commissioned artists to recreate some of the snappy signs that protesters have been carrying at anti-Trump rallies and marches over the past few months. At Coup, the Times reports, they will become décor.

Other bars have taken political positions in recent months, both pro- and anti-Trump. But none have pledged all profits to non-profit organizations. Coup will have two bars, the Times reports, and one will have a rotating roster of guest bartenders who get to choose an organization to receive the profits from their shift. Already signed up are Ivy Mix (of Leyanda), Jane Danger (Mother of Pearl), Giuseppe Gonzalez (Suffolk Arms), Damon Boelte (Grand Army) and Natasha David (Nitecap).
