Locals Score Themselves Free Vodka After Nearly 20 Cases Fall Off A Truck

Christmas came early for a lucky few in Modesto, after close to 20 cases of apple flavored vodka fell off of a distributor truck Thursday, according to The Fresno Bee.

The loss of New Amsterdam Apple Vodka that fell from the truck resulted in a massive flood of vodka, smashed bottles, and an intoxicating and astringent smell of apple in the air. But the wreckage didn’t discourage locals who saw the mess as an opportunity to score themselves some free booze (and who could blame them).

A couple of “unsavory characters were filling their bags” with the unharmed and unclaimed Vodka as firefighters arrived to clean up the spill, a firefighter who spoke to The Fresno Bee said.

Rest assured the spill was cleaned up quickly, thanks in large part to those few “unsavory characters.”
