Coronavirus may be stopping sports fans from cheering on their favorite team in the stadium, but Heineken is bringing that experience to the homes of some lucky soccer fans.
On Wednesday, Heineken announced its “Stadium in a Box” contest, running until August 11. The contest gives fans the chance to win a replica stadium seat from their local Major League Soccer (MLS) team, a Heineken beer fridge, and a gift certificate for some game day eats.
While there are 23 available prizes, participants can only enter to win the home stadium prize from teams in their home state (U.S.-based teams only — sorry Canadian fans). For example, fans in Florida are eligible to win a prize from either Orlando City or Inter Miami. Heineken, at the time of publishing, hasn’t outlined how they are handling situations like the New York Red Bulls who actually play in New Jersey.
Last week, Miller Lite announced a similar contest in partnership with Major League Baseball, bringing a set of stadium seats to six winners.
To enter Heineken’s “Stadium in a Box” contest, tweet #CheersFromHome and #Promo to @Heineken_US showing how you’re watching the MLS is Back Tournament. Once submitted, participants will get a response with a link directing them to a registration form. More info about the contest can be found here.
This year’s sports seasons might be out of the ordinary, but having your own stadium set-up at home definitely would make it better.
