What started as a social media ruse by Tesla CEO Elon Musk may soon become a reality: Tesla-branded tequila. After teasing “Teslaquila” on Twitter and Instagram earlier this year, the billionaire extraordinaire’s company is officially trademarking the name.
Tesla filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for an “intent to use” trademark for “distilled agave liquor” and “distilled blue agave liquor,” CNBC reports. Last week, Musk tweeted another teaser about the tequila, saying it is “coming soon.” He even included a “visual approximation” of the bottle label.

This doesn’t guarantee that Teslaquila will become a reality—but it’s pretty believable. It may happen sooner than we think, too—apparently, Tesla originally applied for the trademark in Jamaica in April, and “is asserting a U.S. priority date based on that foreign application,” CNBC reports. Salud?
