Eataly has become a popular destination for fanatics of Italian culture and cuisine since it was founded in 2004. The large Italian marketplace is known to be much more than an Italian grocery. The locations in New York City, Boston, and Chicago are restaurant hubs, cooking class locations, wine stores — you name it. But the newest Eataly addition opening in Bologna, Italy on November 15 takes everything to a whole different level. The newest Eataly is essentially an Italian wine and food theme park.

This will not be like a normal Eataly location that you might find in the U.S. The new installation is called Fico Eataly World, and will offer their usual Italian fare and products, but with an expanded focus. A press release describes the new location as “the world’s largest agri-food park.” Fico Eataly World will consist of 20 acres of farmland, which will feature 40 farms and showcase the agricultural methods behind meat, dairy, and pasta production among other Italian specialties.

After learning about how your food gets from farm to table, visitors will be able to indulge in over 40 dining and drinking options. And if you want to learn how to make some of your favorite Italian dishes, Fico Eataly World will offer a variety of classes and workshops. Guests will have the option of exploring the vast Italian cornucopia by bicycle or with a Fico biodiversity guide.

Eater reports that 2,000 companies are involved in the $106 million dollar venture, which is expected to create 3,000 jobs. Furthermore, Eataly CEO Oscar Farinatti hopes to draw 10 million patrons to the new location annually. For those of us in the states who simply can’t wait, it might be wise to take a trip to Eataly for its “Sale-tember” with some goods up to 50% off from September 5th through October 8th. Prego!
