Pennsylvania may have shut down liquor stores, but beer and wine are still available in the state’s grocery stores. Still, as many people can’t or don’t feel comfortable leaving their homes right now, essential supplies (read: alcohol) are running dry.
As reported by CBS Pittsburgh, 93-year-old Olive Veronesi was down to her last 12 beers when she decided it was time to take action.
When a relative came to visit (Veronesi was staying at home to help “flatten the curve”), the Pittsburgh-area local held up a Coors Light and sign reading: “I need more beer!!”
Veronesi’s photo soon went viral, after it was shared by CBS Pittsburgh on its Facebook page. After that, it was only a matter of time before she got her wish. On Monday afternoon, Veronesi received a pleasant surprise when two Coors representatives arrived at her home, dropping off 10 cases of beer.
Veronesi, who drinks one Coors Light every day, was delighted. With 150 beers at her disposal, she won’t be running out any time soon. As for how she celebrated the haul: She held up a sign, of course.
