Cold brew coffee-infused booze is all the rage lately. We’ve seen it in beers for a long while, starting with styles like imperial stouts and making its way all the way to IPAs. But here is something truly new: Apothic Wines today announced the launch of Apothic Brew, a red wine infused with cold brew coffee.

Apothic Brew will be available for a limited time, beginning in April.

The coffee-infused red blend is “a response to the growing demand for cold brew coffee in the United States,” Apothic said in a press release, noting that demand grew “a staggering 430 percent between 2015 and 2017,” according to a report by Mintel.

Red wine infused with cold brew coffee may sound outrageous, but it’s right in line with Apothic’s boundary-pushing attitude toward wine. Last year, Apothic introduced Inferno, a bourbon barrel-aged wine.

“Apothic is no stranger to creating interesting new blends – from the launch of the distinctive category leader Apothic Red to our smooth Apothic Crush and our most recent hit, Apothic Inferno, a red blend aged in whiskey barrels,” said Christine Jagher, Apothic director of marketing. “We’ve always sought to break the mold to bring our fans products w e know they will love. Apothic Brew is a game changer that offers the best of both worlds – cold brew and wine – and I can’t wait for people to try it.”

It ain’t the next Red Bull Vodka—it contains less caffeine than decaf coffee—but if a rich, dessert-like red blend with hints of coffee and a chocolate nose is something you think you’d be into, it’s worth a shot. (But, maybe just a shot.)
