Carvel Made Fudgie the Beer With Captain Lawrence Brewing, And We Are Losing Our Minds

Here at VinePair, we know the power of a good beer collaboration. But we didn’t know it could be quite this good. Captain Lawrence Brewing of Elmsford, N.Y. has teamed up with Carvel ice cream to create Fudgie the Beer, a new summer stout that turns Carvel’s famous Fudgie the Whale ice cream cake into beer form.

The special limited edition beer was released on Wednesday, May 30 at Captain Lawrence in Elmsford. It’s available* in four-packs of 16-ounce cans featuring adorable Fudgie the Whale branding (that smirk! That eyebrow!). The six percent ABV stout is actually made with Carvel signature chocolate crunchies and fudge, like Fudgie himself.

And, believe it or not, the best is yet to come: Starting Wednesday, June 6 the beer hall will be serving Fudgie the Beer milkshakes, also for a limited time.

To put the proverbial (and literal) ice cream on the cake, Fudgie himself helped brew the beer. Watch the video here.
