Buffalo Wild Wings has added a new beer to its impressive tap roster: Wild Herd Kölsch. Produced in collaboration with Goose Island, the Kölsch will serve as the chain’s new house beer.
“A Kölsch is the perfect hybrid beer, giving the easy drinkability of a lager with the flavor profile of a craft ale,” Buffalo Wild Wings beverage innovation manager Jason Murphy told FSR magazine. “We wanted to offer an easy-drinking beer that our guests can enjoy with their wings and burgers during a marathon of games in our sports bars.”
According to FSR, the light and refreshing German-style brew pairs well with items across the sports bar’s menu, including its signature wing sauces and line of beer-battered chicken, which is now made using Wild Herd Kölsch.
“Not only do we have a beer that drinks well for our guests, but it’s also a great ingredient for our food,” said Murphy.
The brew was released in Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants nationwide on August 11. If you plan on visiting a location to try the beer for yourself, be sure to also sample one of the chain’s impressive signature Margaritas.
