Picture this: it’s a chilly, rain-soaked night. The droplets are pelting away at your living room window incessantly, while the wind whistles in the dark night. The weather’s got you feelin’ some type of way — you know, the type that involves curling up next to a crackling fireplace, accompanied by a good book and an even better bottle of vino.
Thanks to a new innovative Italian company, snuggling up with a bottle of wine and a good read has never been more convenient. In fact, they even come in the same package, sort of like a two-for-one type purchase. Wait, what? Let us explain.
Librottiglia, an Italian company that’s part wine/part literature , has paired up with Matteo Correggia winery to create a one stop shop for all of your boozy binge-reading needs. As Web Urbanist reports, each half size bottle (a solid two glasses of vino) comes wrapped in a short story whose title and genre matches thematically with the vintage in which the wine was produced. The covers of these stories are also the labels for the wine bottle. If you’re a lover of both literature and lazy wine drinking, this product’s for you.
This wine bottle/short story hybrid was thought up with the intention of providing wine lovers with a non-technological escape for recreational reading. As the creators told Web Urbanist, “We read books on computers, tablets, and mobile phones. Why not a bottle of wine?”
Already stressing over holiday gift shopping? Sounds like you’ve found a solid answer with this one. For now it’s only in Italian; here’s hoping it catches on.
