After an ongoing #SeltzerShowdown involving a polygraph test that challenged consumers to decide whether they prefer White Claw Pure or Bon & Viv Classic, a surprise announcement came from national sports analyst Adam Schefter: Bon & Viv is now the National Football League’s official spiked seltzer sponsor.
The lie detector test was conducted on video with John Grogan, “Hollywood’s notorious polygraph expert.” In the video, Grogan questions Schefter, known as “the NFL’s truth-teller,” and is interrupted by a phone call. “John, Bon & Viv is signing on as an official sponsor with the NFL,” Schefter says.
Bon & Viv Classic will be in 27 NFL stadiums starting this fall, where fans can enjoy it in 16-ounce cans. The sponsorship will additionally include new ad buys for TV, a spokesperson tells VinePair. As for Bon & Viv Classic, it’s currently available nationally in 12-ounce and 16-ounce cans, as well as on draft.
Although the announcement claims this is “a first for the category,” Vive, by Convington, Ky.’s. Braxton Brewing, announced it will be the official hard seltzer of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals earlier this month, as VinePair reported.
