Aldi has launched a new online wedding service. Now, not only does the discount supermarket offer wildly popular cheap wines; it also provides handy catering advice for couples preparing for their big day.
The service includes curated “Party Packages” containing a range of specially chosen wines, averaging at less than $9 per bottle. Customers can also personalize their wine list with bottles of the Aldi’s own-brand Veuve Monsigny Champagne, retailing for roughly $14, a fraction of the price of a bottle of Veuve Clicquot.
While the rock-bottom prices are currently only available to UK customers, the designated wedding page also offers shrewd advice useful for soon-to-weds worldwide.
For the toast, Aldi recommends nine bottles of bubbly per 50 guests — under $3 per glass when buying the supermarket’s discount fizz — and lists food pairing suggestions.
Speaking to the Drinks Business, Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “Now that wedding season has officially begun, we’re making it easier than ever for shoppers to choose the right wine when it comes to toasting their special day.”
Now all that’s left to worry about are those embarrassing best man and maid of honor speeches.
