If you’ve ever had the desire to leave your chair and physically enter the magical world of Tim Burton you’re in luck, because a Tim Burton themed bar is opening in New York City. The owners of the bar, Zach Neil & Brian Link have a history of opening movie themed bars to great success. Their last hit was “Stay Classy” a bar based on Anchorman and the other characters of Will Ferrel. Now their opening Beetle House, a bar solely devoted to the zany characters of Mr. Burton.
The menu is packed full of Burton references such as cocktails like The Nightmare Before Christmas – rum, creme de coconut, lime juice – Alice in Wonderland – peach vodka, gin, rum, tequila, peach schnapps, sour mix, Coke – and The Chocolate Factory Martini, a drink we have no doubt that both fans of Tim Burton as well as R. Kelly will be huge fans of. The food also carries through the Burton theme such as Beetle bread, a kind of bruschetta, and Edward Burger Hands – though we really think they should add Edward 40 Hands to the menu as well.
The restaurant/bar is currently accepting reservations for the new endeavor. While they say you can simply pop in for a drink, sitting down for dinner is going to mean calling in advance. And if you don’t plan ahead, you’ll have to deal with the bouncer dressed as Beetlejuice who’s checking people in at the door.
