In 2023, Keith wrote a rather hot-take article for VinePair titled “The Natural Wine Flaw.” In the piece, he discusses the nebulous nature of the term natural wine and the confusion that has always existed surrounding what the category actually is. Is it low intervention? Is it wine without added sulfites? Are natural wines organic? It’s a term that, while it evokes a feeling, doesn’t actually have a definition. And yet, the term persists.

Today on the “Wine 101” podcast, Keith discusses some of the most pressing issues with the term “natural wine.” It has no definition, and it’s been confusing for over a decade, so why do we still use it? Tune in as Keith dives into the reality and the consequences of a trendy, undefined term in the wine-drinking space.
