Italian Pinot Grigio is among the most ubiquitous, catch-all white wines. While Pinot Grigio is in fact the same grape as the Pinot Gris seen most often in Alsace and Oregon, its different spelling portends a different style of wine. A neutral grape, Pinot Grigio tends to be fairly mellow without the sharp acidity of other international white varietals. Though it is a rounder wine with more body than expected, Pinot Grigio is also known for being clean and easy-drinking.
