Have you ever been out to dinner with friends when all of a sudden someone at the table tells the rest of the group that they smell something really crazy inside their wine glass? Maybe they smell forest floor, rose petals, or even something like persimmon. However, when you go to smell the wine yourself, you don’t pick up those scents at all. The reason they’re smelling these weird aromas and you’re not, is probably because you don’t have those aromas solidified in your “smell bank.”

When it comes to recognizing aromas in wine, we’re more likely to pick up aromas we smell often in the real world, aromas that we “deposit” multiple times into our “smell bank.” Becoming a super smeller, or the person in the room who picks up all the crazy aromas, just takes training your brain. In this video, we show you how to do just that.
