While I’m not such a big dessert person (but bring on cheese any day!), there are a few desserts for which I’ll make an exception to my general rule of tastes. There’s just something about the first bite of any icy treat (not unlike the first sip of wine) that immediately sends the “please relax now!” signal to the rest of your body. Rarely do I watch someone take their first bite of sorbet, ice cream or other icy delights without seeing them physically relax. Same goes for wine. So what could be more perfect than combining the two?

Here are my five favorite easy-to-make icy wine treats! Not only are the below desserts absolutely delicious, they’ll also look simply gorgeous on your table. And, even if you’re on the go and don’t have time for a sit-down dessert moment, the magic of wine and ice can be combined in pop form to give you the perfect on-the-go refresher! (Not interested in making your own wine sorbet or popsicle? Ciao Bella has a Blackberry Cabernet Sorbet that is delightful.)
