While it seemed like rosé was everywhere last summer, and had perhaps reached peak popularity (let’s all agree to forget about the obnoxious brosé meme), it looks like we had better brace ourselves for another round. Rosé in a can is coming, from France, California and beyond.
Here’s what you need to get ready for the pink tidal wave.
Underwood Wines, which is out of Oregon, popularized canned wines a couple years ago with their Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. This year rosé will be available in their familiar silver 375ml cans.
A new brand called “The Drop” is also about to launch 4-packs of 250ml California rosé. Here’s how they describe their wine:
This Rosé is all about Summer – Light as a four day work week; a bit of fruit on the nose gives way to first class crispness, finished with a high-five of minerality. Don’t be fooled by the can, THIS IS NOT YOUR AUNT’S PINK ZIN.
Looking for something French? The team behind 90+ Cellars is launching a line of canned wines — Lila Wines — that includes a Provence rosé. The wine is available in 4-packs of 250ml cans. What’s it taste like?
Light, crisp and aromatic with aromas of fresh watermelon, strawberries and a hint of minerality, this Rosé is dry and refreshing with lingering flavors of red berries and orange peel. Pairs well with everything from lobster and herbed butter to a simple BLT sandwich.
