Mary J. Blige is a goddess in her own right. As a singer, songwriter, actress, and producer, she has spent much of her career immersed in creativity. Now, Blige has announced what seems to be a gift from the gods: a new wine label called “Sun Goddess Wines.”

Blige teased the exciting announcement with an Instagram video on Sunday. She then followed it up with a post on Monday, writing: “It’s finally here! I’ve been creating this for [three] years now and I hope this brings you some joy during these trying times.”

The Sun Goddess collection includes two wines: a complex, full-bodied Pinot Grigio Ramato (a type of pale orange wine) and an aromatic, velvety-smooth Sauvignon Blanc.

Blige’s Sun Goddess wines are produced by Fantinel Winery, a family-owned Italian winery with vineyards throughout the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, according to an email press release. In regards to the partnership with Blige, CEO Marco Fantinel said: “From day one, it was clear she shares our philosophy for producing wines of the highest quality.”

Fantinel added: “We could not think of a better partner and collaborator to bring customers these beautiful new wines.”

Blige made similarly enthusiastic remarks about the project, which she first conceived during a tasting visit at the Fantinel Vineyards. According to Blige: “In that moment, I felt the same magical energy I have long tried to capture from the sun and knew this was an incredible opportunity to partner with someone who shared that passion.”

The collection will hit shelves beginning in August, with each wine retailing for $20. In the meantime, both can be pre-ordered here.
