The American Homebrewers Association’s Zymurgy magazine released its “Best Beers in America” results this week, showing members’ favorite beers commercially available in the U.S. Of the 25 that made the list, 20 beers come from small and independent craft brewers, the BA said in a press release.

Bell’s Brewery’s Two Hearted Ale is ranked number 1 for the third consecutive year. Bell’s Brewery’s Hopslam Ale also placed at number 7, and Bell’s Brewery as a whole was named top brewery. Previously, Bell’s Two Hearted came in second to Russian River’s Pliny the Elder for seven years. Russian River’s Pliny the Elder is now ranked number 2.

Last year, IPA ruled the top four spots, but this year Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout took the third and fourth spots.

After Bell’s Brewery, top breweries according to AHA members include Founders, Russian River Brewing, Sierra Nevada, and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.
