This February will mark 125 years in the biz for Anchor Brewing, with no shortage of milestones in recent times. The brand was acquired by Sapporo in 2017 and made headlines two years later when employees successfully fought to unionize.

Now, with the 125th anniversary around the corner, Anchor Brewing has announced a slew of changes on the horizon. For starters, the packaging for the brand’s classic beers like the California Lager and Liberty Ale will be revamped. The new look will feature a “retro-modern aesthetic” according to an email press release.

This March, new beers will also join the lineup. Fans can look forward to a Tropical Hazy IPA, Crisp Pilsner, and Anchor’s first 100-calorie brew the “Little Weekend.” Even better, the brewery is offering “retro-priced” $1.25 six-packs for pickup from its San Francisco Public Taps location.

In looking ahead to the next 125 years, Anchor has also announced new sustainability initiatives. These include completing a water treatment facility that will allow the brewery to recycle industrial use water and reduce its overall water usage. The brand also plans to continue working with Baykeeper, a non-profit focused on preserving the San Francisco Bay, and recently forged a new partnership with the California State Parks Foundation.
