The Story Behind The Campari Spring Punch

It’s beginning to feel a lot like spring, and the transition in my cocktails is replicating the weather. I love using Campari for its bold flavor that shines through any ingredients you add to it and works well with so many other spirits, liqueurs and juices. The Cointreau of course is a delicious orange triple sec, which adds only a little flavor while sweetening the overall concoction.

In this great weather I felt it necessary to add more orange juice, as the citrus flavor mixed in with the Campari is delicious. And to give the finishing touches to this cocktail, I added pineapple and lime juices to create a balanced mixture of sweetness and acidity that reminds me of a tropical Caribbean getaway.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce of Campari
  • 1 ounce of Cointreau
  • 1 ounce of pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce of orange juice
  • ½ ounce of lime juice
  • 5 strawberries chopped
  • 1 cup of crushed ice
  • ½ cup of regular ice

Directions

  1. To a shaker add Campari, Cointreau, pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, chopped strawberries, and ½ cup of regular ice.
  2. Shake mixture then strain over crushed ice.
