Spam Cocktails Are Here To Stay

Mixologists are always trying to find new concepts to attract customers. Whether it’s creating their own bitters, tweaking an already established drink, or inventing a completely new drink, innovation is necessary if mixologists want to have a distinguished bar.

No surprise, there have been weird and wacky alcoholic creations popping up almost every week (weed cocktails, anyone?). This week’s far-out drink of choice: the Spamarita.

Yep, it is exactly what you think it is: a Spam Margarita. Wait. What? Yeah. We will say it again: a Spam Margarita. Coming out of London-based Korean-fusion restaurant Junjuu, the Spamarita is made with Ocho tequila, mezcal, agave nectar, pineapple, lime, and an honest-to-goodness hunk of spam. The ingredients are mixed together and served straight up in spam container.

It sounds gross, but according to Junjuu’s spokesman the cocktail is actually delighting their customers. It’s hard to believe that at £11-per-head, a Spam Margarita could be such a delight, but then again, some folks out there really love their canned pork products.

So if you have some extra cash lying around, a stomach of steel, and a carefree demeanor, we strongly suggest you check this cocktail out. In the very least, you’ll get some protein.
