Keep Drinking Champagne For Blemish Free Skin

2017 is off to a great start. We just learned that Champagne is actually good for your skin! That’s right — there’s no need to stop the flow of bubbles post-New Year’s Eve. As if we needed an excuse to keep drinking Champagne, survey says that our favorite fizz is actually beneficial for our visage. According to New York-based dermatologist Marina Peredo, M.D., via New Beauty, “Champagne detoxifies the skin with with antioxidants and lightening tartaric acid helps even out the skin tone. For those with oily skin, its antibacterial properties aid in leaving last year’s breakouts behind.”

Count us in! Here’s how you do it: Continue your nightly face-wash routine with the product of your choice. Then dab a Champagne-soaked cotton ball over your face and neck, avoiding contact with eyes. For those with sensitive skin, it’s advised to test the method out on a small portion of non-visible skin beforehand. And if you needed yet another perk, a University of Reading study via Town and Country reports that “two glasses of Champagne a day may be good for your heart and circulation and could reduce the risks of suffering from cardiovascular disease and stroke.” Not only is Champagne good for your face, but it’s also a heart-healthy beverage choice.

Popping bottles over pimples? Now that’s a skin-care regimen we can definitely get down with. Don’t forget to pour a glass for yourself while applying to your face — for your heart health’s sake, of course.
